Tango Fusion Video Choreographic Ideas

Story 451 | Argentine Tango, Contemporary, Creative Work, Elbow Room Dance Company, Tango Fusion | Performance | 1 Project

Choreographed at the early stages of research and development with dancer Martin Espindola, two weeks into the Tango Fusion project. The work then focused on two strands. The first, working on Tango and secondly, finding processes to integrate the disciplines in authentic expression, opening up possibilities. Improvisation, being inherent in both Contemporary Dance and Tango, provided the obvious and most immediate route to expanding the palate when looking to develop a unique language in fusion. This early stage choreographic excerpt, seen here, was included in the performance of the work in progress, shown at the Dance Live Festival, East Coast Moves evening of work, hosted by City Moves in Aberdeen in 2010.

Performed here as part of an informal showing of work in progress in residency at Dance Base in Edinburgh.
