Ani has been commissioned by a diverse range of organisations. Creative work has been seen from Opera to Glastonbury Festival, hillsides to shopping centres, small groups to large scale, youths to adults, cross generational projects, Integrated groups and Theatre Companies.

A broad range of commissions, has afforded Ani the pleasure of Directing, devising and collaborating with accomplished Artists of all disciplines, delivering stories of worlds colliding, mass consumerism, the gritty life of a city to fairy tales.

Ani has worked with a number of accomplished Tango Dancers, including world class Damian Thompson and Berlin based Kara Wenham, building a breadth of knowledge on this intoxicating, improvised, technical and highly social dance form. She shares her discoveries through teaching and performing at special events with visiting Tangueros regularly, in both Aberdeen and Edinburgh.

Elbow Room Dance Company was established by Ani in 1999 with it’s debut Metchen, as a vehicle to express her creative voice through Dance Theatre. It quickly became recognised in Scotland, as a unique creative force in making surprising, innovative, accessible cross media work with accomplished panache and for exceptionally high production values. It toured Metchen in 2000. The company gained Charitable Status in 2002 and was extensively supported by finding bodies and sponsors.
